SOMEONE TELL ME HOW PACIFIC RIM IS. I've been dying to go see it but every time I get ready to go something seems to come up!
I've recently watched 'The Heat' and 'Monster's University' with my friends - Heat was great, had some really genuine moments and delivered that sort of buddy cop dynamic that I was expected. MU was kinda disappointing! The character designs and the animation was great, but it just didn't feel like it had the same feel of the first movie since it focused super heavily on the Scare Games plotline. I honestly would have preferred to see Mike and Sully working their way up at Monster's Inc.

It was in theaters around the same time as Despicable Me 2, so I had to pick which one I wanted to see. I chose the later and really enjoyed it. It had a different feel from the first but was very cute. I haven't seen Pacific Rim and am also curious. I kind of want to see Sharknado just to bare witness to, well, whatever it is. I've heard from a few people that it wasn't the funny sort of bad that everyone makes it out to be, but that's probably very subjective in the first place.

I've been hearing so much about Pacific Rim but I have no idea what it's about. I guess I should look it up sometime. MU looked like... I have no idea. The whole concept just seemed like they were under pressure to find a new concept for Monsters Inc.

Pacific Rim is basically combining a Godzilla or other kaiju movie with the best years of Mecha anime. It's very good if you like either or both of those things. The writing and characters are also very fantastic, but I almost wish the movie was longer so we could see more of the characters!
I also saw The Wolverine not too long ago. I really liked it, and the one girl with the red hair is an absolute cutie! I think I may have seen her do modelling before in something, but I'm not sure! I thought it was amazing and it just made me so much more excited for Days of Future Past! Though some parts of the movie definitely made me squeemish, eeck.

I thought it would be horrible from the trailer, but it betrayed my expectations.

I wanted to go see Sharknado but my theater only has one showing a day for it. It's at an inconvenient time too. Saw The Heat a while ago, and can gladly say I was laughing throughout most of the movie. That's about it though, I don't go to the movies very often.

I can vouch for Pacific Rim. It was a bit cheesey at times but it had me literally at the edge of my seat. It definitely had an effect on me. Maybe that's because I am so scared of prehistoric sea creatures, though, haha. Go see it if you have the chance!

I really wanted to go and see Despicable Me 2 and a few others and never got around to it, I think the last time I went to the movies it was to see the new Evil Dead remake and that was pretty average, or maybe that was because it was 11pm and I was just grumpy and tired

I wasn't sure how it would be, but there was a lot of hype about it on Syfy. It probably wouldn't have lived up to my expectations. I'm sorry that you missed Despicable Me 2 in theaters. On the bright side, it will be just as cute on DVD! Lee Daniels' The Butler is playing in out town theater, and I'd love to see it, but my dad, who offered to take me out to a movie, doesn't want to see it on the big screen. It doesn't have enough explosions for him to want to see it in theaters. This seems to happen a lot. He offers to take me, but the four movies playing either don't have enough special effects for him or a good enough plot for me.

I really liked both Pacific Rim and Despicable Me 2! I missed MU, so I'm glad to hear it wasn't anything special.
