I'm going to be getting my first dress, and I'm excited but nervous at the same time. What was your first dress? Looking back on it now, did you regret it, or wish you did something different with it?

My first dress was a Whimiscal Vanilla-chan replica by OoJia. It was one of her earlier replicas so a lot of detail that she puts into them now wasn't present. I got it from another girl who was selling it at a convention and thought it was cute. I enjoyed it, but in reality it was actually too big and too short. I altered it into a skirt, but then I ended up losing weight and bought the real version in a different colorway.

I got my first dress about 7 years ago. It was a horrible, overpriced, BxW JSK from K-star. I sold it for much less than what I paid, but I was just happy to get rid of it.

My first purchase was actually a set with an overcoat, blouse and underskirt. It was the the Bernadette set from Milky Ange. Looking back it was a difficult beginner outfit to wear but in the long run it's been my favorite in my wardrobe all these years! I find myself incorporating those pieces in my most current coordinates.

Most of my first dresses were handmade, some of them being decent, and some pretty bad, but at least I hadn't wasted a ton of money on them. My first non- handmade one was a black floral offbrand OP, which I still own but am thinking of selling soon. It's nice, but I don't wear it often enough to justify keeping it. I'm not really a fan of black clothing personally.

My first official dress is the Innocent World High Waisted Violets inside Mansion jsk in black colorway. I got it at new brand price off their website but it's a beautiful print and I don't regret the purchase, especially since it didn't go on sale! I just started lolita this year but I'm glad my first purchase wasn't a replica! I had bought a nice black floral HW skirt from Bodyline as my first coord items.

Angelic Pretty's Strawberry Parlour Shirring JSK! I worked my butt off in order to save enough to buy the full set and complete the coord at once. No regrets, I still adore the piece and it's insanely comfortable. I wore it to my first meet and never looked back!

My first-first dresses (purchased at the same time) were years ago and I just wanted something to wear to the formal ball at my local convention so I though "I should get a Lolita dress!!" and of course didn't do any research or anything. At least I was smart enough not to go to Milanoo and did get a petticoat. On the other hand I didn't get the memo about having something on your legs. e__e; Yuck, though, man. And of course in typical F+F fashion they were astronomically too long for me, which was accentuated by the fact that I'm quite short. These were like midway down my calves haha.   |

My first dress I got back in March. It was Chess Story's Starry Night Angel in Navy. I'm very happy with it. It's so cute and comfortable. I also got the matching blouse in white.

My first dress was actually the black Musical Note dress from Bodyline - Which I'm 99% sure was actually a replica of an older Angelic Pretty dress.
I gave it away years ago; Trying to track it down again for sentimental value.

My first dress was Fairy From Forest from Bodyline in pink. I bought a full outfit with the JSK, all Bodyline except this cheap petticoat from Refuse to be Usual on eBay. The petti had a bit of poof, so I think my first outfit was pretty okay, although rather plain.

My gosh, have all of you guys really started off so wonderfully?? Most people I talk to suffered the same fate as me, with a crappy ita dress when we were young and stupid! (as I posted above!)
My first dress when I really actually started wearing Lolita aside from just a dress for a con ball was... not one dress but an Innocent World oddment LP; so many different dresses. The first one I wore was Bertille Rose. xD

I love that dress and missed out on it  My first dress was a.. Bodyline one with card trumps on it, very influenced by an AaTP dress I stumbled across but I'm not sure what it's called. My first brand item was an Angelic Pretty Wonder Trip Tartan skirt. |
