Title says it all! This is a place for you to post your ideas and plans and work in progress, and even get help or advice on your current project! (You can also keep your item/work in progress to a seperate thread than this! I just thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can all share our wips!)

I just bought some ribbon today to make hair accessories for a few hard to match pieces. I'm going to be making some rolled ribbon roses for parts of each one. I don't know what tutorial I'll use for the ones with wire, but I'll be using this one for the non-wired grosgrain ones. Needless to say, I'll use thread rather than hot glue.

I always have too many projects going at once. I'm currently in the middle of a white and navy bird-print skirt with a chiffon overlay, as well as drafting a chiffon blouse, making a headpiece for my Little Prince skirt, and making a book into a pochette.

That's a lovely tutorial, thanks for the link. I'm also planning on making some accessories for a dress I have, including a headband with rolled ribbon roses. I was planning on doing small rolled ribbon roses into one of those flower crowns that have been pretty popular. Something a little more delicate and subtle than most that I've seen. I also need some jewelry to go with that dress, so I'm planning on attempting to make some polymer clay roses to use in jewelry making. My problem is I have so many things I want to do that I get overwhelmed when I finally sit down with the time to make something.

I'm waiting for some print samples to come in, I can't wait to start making skirts with my own design on them! It's not /exactly/ a lolita print but still. <_<
Also, I have some wide lace (like 4-5 inches wide) and I was wondering if anyone could give suggestions on how to make them into wrist-letts? They seem almost perfect for it...

Depending on what kind of lace it is, I would either sew it directly to elastic, or sew it to an elastic casing. You'd also want to get thin elastic, the kind you use for lingerie.

Should I stretch the elastic while sewing (to give it elasticity since the lace itself is static)? I have some thin elastics here. I could experiment in the meantime. Thanks for the tip!

Should I stretch the elastic while sewing (to give it elasticity since the lace itself is static)? Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to do, but you have to, in order to create gathers. Don't use a zig zag stitch (I'm assuming you're using a machine?), otherwise you'll stitch the elastic into a stretched out state (I know, because I've done this once).

Hand sewing is not happening here! Haha. Thank you again. I will play around with it post results. <3

I'm in the middle of altering the Bodyline playing cards dress (in blue). I completely redid the bodice already, and I'm currently fussing with attaching new black puff sleeves, and the detachable long black sleeves. Once those are good, I'm adding a black "waistband" and then reattaching the skirt.
I might add black lace to the dress, but that would be a much later alteration, if it ever happened.
